Science and Business Club

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

UNC’s Science and Business Club is a student-run organization with the goal of providing advanced-degree candidates opportunities to learn more about alternative careers (i.e. consulting, patent law, entrepreneurship) and develop key skills required in the business world such as networking and case interview practice.

Cases and Cases

One major requirement before landing any consulting job is the “case interview”. Excelling at this portion of the interview, like anything, requires practice. Cases & Cases is a biweekly case practice session that connects you with other prospective consultants wishing to hone their casing skills. Whether you’re a seasoned case veteran or you want to try your first case, Cases & Cases is open to any and all skill levels. Hope to see you there!

Interested in joining Cases & Cases? Please email jakegree@live.unc.edu for more information.

(CG)^2 - Carolina Graduate Consulting Group

about (cg)^2

Interested in getting some real-world consulting experience?

Consider applying to join the Carolina Graduate Consulting Group! This pro-bono consulting clinic is an offshoot of the Science and Business club that aims to provide the opportunity for Ph.D./ADCs to consult for local startup companies without the rigid time commitments of an internship. Teams of 2-4 students will be assigned to a client and will work together to complete a project for that client. Each member should be able/willing to contribute a minimum of 5 hours per week to the project (although distribution of work is up to the team). Mentorship and training will be provided.

how to join

To apply, please send a business-style resume to Orrin Stone at ojstone@email.unc.edu and include in your email a short explanation of why you’d like to join. Please also feel to reach out to me for more information or with any questions. I hope you’ll join our team!
